Well we’ve finished up our inaugural BLT stay. Very nice even if I didn’t get to use the pool much. Now we have to figure out when we go back. Got work it around our existing SSR trip schedule. And next year Easter’s really gonna mess with our usual late April/early May trip.

Checkout went smooth. We were up at 6am just before dawn. GM took pics of the sunrise while I showered. Bell services helped us cart our stuff down to the van and pack.

Then we drove to SSR and checked in. Jill was there to greet us. Jason has moved on to Pop Century (so sad). Said hi to bunches of old friends here (Esther & Marie in Artist’s Palette, Andrew and Sundee at COmmunity Hall, and Jim, Gina & Bonnie at AP later). DId about 20 laps in the pool and soaked in the hot tub. Perfect weather day for the pool. Bright, sunny, hot in the sun, nice in shade, perfect in pool. Unpacked ourselves and went to Walmart for supplies.

But I think we have officially overdone it today. Too early a start or too many laps in the pool. SSR is the kind of resort where we just want to soak up all the atmosphere at once.

We’re in the Grandstand section, in our favorite studio (8112). Right next to the bus stop with a golf course view. We were in this room in October and twice in December last year.

We were gonna go try Paradiso tonight but as soon as the sun went down it got chilly. And we’re both aching and exhausted from the move & pool. So we’re just gonna have leftovers, watch a movie and sleep. Tomorrow my bro arrives.

GM doesn’t want to bother making the trek to the airport to get him, so I signed him up for Magical Express. Disney can do the driving. I’m done leaving property for a week. Once you’re onsite for a while, you really don’t want to battle regular Orlando free-for-all. it is so stressful out there.

Oh on the BLT vs SSR comparison, you can really notice the difference in wear and tear. Our room here is about 2 and 1/2 years old. It looks brand new. The one at BLT that’s 8 mos. old looks more worn. That black and wheat furniture is not going to hold up over time. I expect dues will go up to BWV levels soon enough with replacements.
